What's the difference between a lifestyle session and a studio newborn session?

A few years ago, I tried offering the traditional posed newborn sessions. You know the ones with the froggy poses and pretty blankets, etc.

They were not my gifting. They weren't terrible, but they weren't great either. I strongly maintain that if you want to be a newborn photographer, you have to make that your primary focus because it is a highly specialized niche. So if you are a client and posed newborn sessions are what you want, I am not offended. I will refer you to a good friend of mine who is a GENIUS at them. (No, seriously. Check out Jenny Rollins in Pryor. She shot my little boy's newborn photos for me. They're all over my walls.)

But if you just want me to come to your house and document your family loving on your sweet new baby?

ALL.DAY.LONG.

Taylor and Kaitlyn have been letting me photograph their family since before they were even a family! I shot their engagement pictures way back when I first started! Kaitlyn is a dear friend to me and I'm so grateful that they've let me grow with them as I document their family's milestones. This little boy rounded out their family and they are all so in love with him! Check out those big sisters with their baby brother... melt my heart whydontcha!?!?!

(And, one of these days when I get completely caught up and catch my breath, I'm going to blog their maternity session- because they were DROOLWORTHY!)
