Dylan and Meagan were the winners of my Sweetheart Session giveaway! We met on a February afternoon for a quick shoot. (These two were pretty darn adorable and so easy to photograph!)

My goal for a photo session like this one is always to always allow the couple to express themselves. I want their photos to be a reflection of this specific time in their lives. Throughout my interactions with Dylan and Meagan, I could tell that they were devout Christians and that their faith played a key role in their lives. I asked Meagan to write me up a quick summary of their love story- in her own words- and what she wrote quickly reinforced my observations.

“Prince Charming—that’s what little girls dream of, but I dreamed different.

I wanted to be an independent, career-driven young woman who did not need a man for anything. But when I met Dylan that all changed. We were both lost young sinners when he took me to Grace Life Church in Pryor in January of 2017, and we have been attending ever since. There, God saved us both and, through scripture, I realized that He had a much different spot for me in life.

I became Dylan’s wife and helpmate in September of 2017 (yes, things went quick with us). Now I am happily living life with my Prince Charming and I am fulfilling my biblical role as a wife by attending to my husband according to God’s statues.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:1-4, “In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. Your adornment must not be merely external-braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.”

I am dependent on him and he on I. We are here to hold each other accountable and to make sure our marriage and our lives strive to glorify God. I am so thankful God put me in this role and I cannot picture my life without Dylan.”
